The Drama Department of First Pentecostal Church began shortly after Rev. Harvey C. Cantrell became Pastor in 1974. It began under the direction of Pastor and his wife and featured mostly Christmas season productions. Some of the first plays included, The Price Of A Calf, The Fourth Wise Man, A Christmas For Carol, Holly Days Inn, Glory To God, and To All People.

Some time after that the church drama department was given the name "Parable Players" and featured such productions as Mark Of The Carpenter, Catacombs, The Day Before The Downpour, Doors, Come Sundown Tomorrow, For He Had Great Possessions, Asleep In The Light, Locker 309, Jesus of Nazareth, Pap's Place, Lifeline, The 3 Nails, From Out of the Whirlwind, From Dark Despair, A Stranger For Christmas, An Angel of Light, Holly Day's Inn '99,

The Throne, The Towne Without A Tale, John His Story, The "Not Too Perfect" Nativity Play, They're Not Expecting You, The Wardrobe, He Bore My Cross and at times have merged with the church choir for Christmas musicals. The group has been privileged on numerous occasions to have been invited to perform at the annual Western District (California-Nevada) Youth Convention and also take many plays to other churches up and down the state.

Enough cannot be said about the dedication of the many who have been cast members over the years. Many hours of work, nights spent away from family at rehearsals, time spent memorizing scripts, and most importantly...time spent in prayer, dedicating the effort unto the glory of the Lord. What you see tonight is not a group of professionals, but ordinary working people who have found real joy in the Lord and His work and have given of themselves to make it all happen.
